which product works better? 3M hand glaze or Meguires swirl remover? someone told me using meguirs #7 and wax would work but IT DIDN'T. does meguires swirl remover actually work? i want to know for sure before i spend another $10.

n i think civicdude said that they'll eventually come back, does that mean the swirl remover is wearing off and the swirlmarks are showing again or does it mean that your just getting new swirlmarks?

Good ? I have got them as well and have been looking for a cure.

To properly remove swirl marks, you will need a high speed buffer with wool pads.
Get some 1500 grit polish and some 200 grit polish and a hand glaze. Start with a hefty amount of 1500 grit polish
to take out all of the fine scratches in the clear coat. Then use the 2000 grit to smooth it out. Make sure that you have plenty on both the pad and the car to prevent your clear coat from getting to hot. Once the 1500 is on and has "hazed" over, use a micro fiber cloth to remove the excess polish. Repeat this with the 2000 grit polish. When done, Use a very soft foam pad to apply the hand glaze and a micro fiber cloth to remove the excess. After all of this is done, use Yellow wax to finsh the detailing process.

Hope that this will help. It is some what time consumming, but the rewards of it are with out a doubt worth it...

i agree with you on using the high speed machine, but make sure you use it on a low speed and Never Ever use Wool Pads. You are just creating more swirl marks. Always use foam pads.

The car is a grasshopper 2. It is discontinued but the body I got from a local hobby store.

I only use wool, for the fact that I have found that wool will take out swirl marks
faster with out as much heat. I usally run my buffer between 1800-2100 rpm.
Wool and foam is really just a matter of preference than fact. You agree?

Wool causes swirl marks. It is a proven fact. I only use wool pads if I have to restore the paint. If the paint needs a really good cleaning, then I use wool to compound. I will use foam pad to remove the swirl marks and then I would go over the car with 3m hand glaze to get anything I missed.
