Removing the "H"

how do u remove the H honda emblim? with out the 2 little circle's?

jttegx 01-27-2005 03:11 AM

i think the 2 little circles will be their no matter what. you would prob have to mold it in their.. shouldnt cost too much i believe. but thats just my guess cause i wanted to do the same but was afriad of the 2 holes.

PopcornPlaya 01-27-2005 07:47 AM

I removed mine, and welded the holes up, then ground off the excess and went over with some body filler then spot glaze to fill the minor imperfections.

civicrice 02-02-2005 02:39 PM

just leave it on

danase 02-02-2005 03:33 PM

My friend took his out and put in some LED lights in the two holes. I thought it was going to be ricey as hell when he told me but his car was black and you could not even see the holes hardly and at night it looked pretty sweet lit up.

i8dabomb 02-02-2005 04:32 PM

if you're gonna take the H off...get a new H...honda power!

zzsupermanzz15 02-04-2005 02:36 AM

againifall 02-04-2005 02:52 AM

That came out good. A shop is charging me $200 to shave H and keyhole.

blouisgod 02-04-2005 11:40 AM

eh i did it myself. most people dont have access to a spray gun though.

2K1Civic17"Gabe 02-04-2005 01:36 PM

only a couple hundred isnt bad. Im gonna call this guy, he does bumpers for 300, but 150 for us. So, maybe he'll hook me up on the trunk. He does an awesome job and only takes a few hours for a bumper. Much better than my maaco paint job :shake: I wanted the H gone for a long time, but never wanted to pay for something that small. But now I think I might, I need a grill painted anyways, so maybe he'll hook me up on the grill if I do the trunk.

2K1Civic17"Gabe 02-04-2005 01:37 PM

FaZe - is that black circle just from the camera, or is the color off? It is right where the H was, so Im just wondering what happened? Doesnt match or something?

zzsupermanzz15 02-04-2005 02:03 PM

that looks nice...faze

gearbox 02-04-2005 02:13 PM

They're repainting my entire trunk and bumper so I might as well have done it. If you diy, it's not gonna match very well unless you have the right tools.

When they do it improperly, they do it that way. Welding teh holes up, then bondoing, and glazing is the only way it looks right, and trust me, you can tell the difference. The bondoed up hole will start to sag over time, and you'll have two dimples in your trunk. That's the same with shaving the door handles. Buy a second set of door skins and cut it to fit then weld it in and grind down, bondo and glaze. Might as well do it right. I got mine done for free. :sweet:
