cup holder in front

well quick question... my friend and I were going to casino and bottom line he spilled lemonade inside my car...now Im sure you guys know the cup holder in front...how it has a cover and when you press it the cover pops up or you can pop it in....well I guess the hook or whatever that it presses into is sticky so it won't close how can I clean that...should I spill water on it? lol, not sure what to do

CivicsRdBest 01-26-2005 10:05 PM

yeah, I'd try squirting water on it...

againifall 01-26-2005 10:07 PM

water and a qtip

armieo 01-26-2005 10:07 PM

Qtip and hot water.

NaSh123 02-03-2005 05:40 PM

won't hot water not work?

i8dabomb 02-03-2005 08:50 PM

some citrus based cleaner...

NaSh123 02-03-2005 10:00 PM

but its like inside nothign can reach it unless i pour some liquid in it...but would pouring any liquid there damage anything?

againifall 02-04-2005 01:03 AM

nothing electrical about a clip... dont go dumping water in there.. but a lil bit of water wont hurt anything..

armieo 02-04-2005 05:54 AM

Why don't you just find out how to dismantle your center console? It's not that hard. Just a few screws and clips.

NaSh123 02-04-2005 10:32 PM

because i don't want to take the center console apart

QBoi 02-05-2005 07:09 AM

Taking apart your center console would only take about 30 min for a first timer, and you can clean all of the mess instead of some.

Civic_RedLine 02-09-2005 02:49 AM

I would suggest the same. RIp your console apart to clean the whole thing rather than just a little and having that problem come back again. I had to do that to my moms accord cause children kept spilling shit in there.

Civic_RedLine 02-09-2005 02:51 AM

if you really cant take it apart I wouldnt jut put water only. Put some mild detergant along with water. Water alone wont do much.

xam 02-09-2005 05:47 AM

WD-40 spray in there let it sit (and/or use qtip). then tada

2K1Civic17"Gabe 02-17-2005 12:21 PM

yeah, it takes me like 2 minutes to get my center console out, I would do that if I was you.

2K1Civic17"Gabe 02-17-2005 12:22 PM

maybe water/alcohol mixture. The alcohol should eat it up a little.

NaSh123 02-17-2005 03:27 PM

it seems to be okay now...the weather changes it around it's weird lol...I haven't had time to clean it yet

MeguiarsEM 02-22-2005 05:38 PM

What I've done is sprayed this. Let it sit there for about 30 seconds and it will start disolving the lemonade. Then suck out all the liquids with a vacuum. Worked for me
