Auto shift knob? I was lookin through the galleries and saw a couple people that had made their auto's look like stick shifts. They had a boot around it and like a steel shift knob. I was wondering if anybody knew how to remove that, and how to go about making it look stick? |
okay there are two screws towards the bottom of your shifter. remove them the lever should move right up. then remove the center console . there's a diy about it somewhere. bsically you remover the PRNDetc piece. then buy the manual boot from honda & a razo shift knob not sure what number & a spring to hold the boot up to the knob. but yeah..that's how you do it. but me i just got a knob & skipped the boot part. |
What about this? Is this worth the 8 bucks, i'm not sure on the chrome...but if i can find it in gun metal, i think i'd buy it. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33703 |
they make it in gunmetal... i have that same one. i paid 20 some odd dollars at summitracing.com. i like it. here's mine. http://www.7thgencivic.com/memberrid...61Dscn0406.jpg |
Alright thanks, i'll check it out. I think gunmetal looks a lot better. What were you saying earlier about needing a spring, is that for the boot? |
yeah it holds the boot up to the knob so it doesn't fall down. but i didn't use the boot iwth this knob. it looks better without it. since it sits low in the stick. |
eddie have you blacked out your parking reverse and drive on your shifter. if so explain =) |
never mind i got it |
yeah, i'll proly just get the knob. But i'm also interested in how you blacked out your parking, reverse. etc.? |
i dont know about anyone else, but when i put on the thing that holds the shiftboot up (that one from honda), i couldnt get the key out of my car. the reason is because theres a plastice piece in the front under the shiftboot, and if you have a thing that holds up the shiftboot, its going to hit it...thus, it will not full engage in park. but that only happened to me, i dont know about anyone else. |

Proly don't need the spring anyway 1 Attachment(s) I don't think in this picture he is using the spring for the boot, and it looks alright. user:01civicuh |
yea looks pretty good, i dont think he is using a spring either. |
It might be because the knob is so long, so there is much of a gap in between the boot and knob. I don't know...i'd like mine to look like that though. |

ooo i see, Thanks |
