spray-painting air vents I'm thinking of painting my air vents silver and wondering how well the paint will stick? I dont want it to scratch off or anything. I bought a can of Plasti-Kote Spot-Filler & Primer and a can of Plasti-Kote Import Color 5304 Honda Silver. I want to be able to scratch it without having the paint come off. will i have to sand the primer to get it to stick? Thanks, Ozdog |
sand the vents down first. Then, spray some... I wrote a long arse post about painting in ice and electrical giving a step by step. it was titled "paint" i think written by "fonto" originally. |

I did mine, but I didn't sand anything. I just used the Plastikote Brake Caliper paint that I already had left over. Just clean it, give it a few coats until you think its had enough... http://www.7thgencivic.com/forums/at...achmentid=9177 http://www.7thgencivic.com/forums/at...achmentid=9178 |
Hey... That EX is a neat idea. Can you pick those up at a junk yard or something or did you get it someplace else. Or did you shave your emblems and use that? |
i don't like the placement of the EX but it's a neat idea How do you get the vents out if you want to paint them? I've tried to take mine out but I can't and don't want to break them |
I bet he shave his emblems But trust me u will get sick of it soo fast |
Yeah the EX idea was pretty retarded. I took it off the back of my car, and then I didn't know what to do with it, so I repainted it. Then I just stuck it inside my car with double sided tape, just for fun. Then the sun kinda "melted" the tape so I didn't want to remove the emblem b/c then there would be all this white tape stuff there, so I just left it there. The airvents are so easy. Take a screwdriver and put a towel over it. Then stick in the bottom side of the trim that goes around the vents (driver side and passenger side vents only. Then just pry it out, easy as that. |
how do u remove the plastic around the radio? |
