Tire Shine

What do you use? What's your expereince with certain ones, that sucked. Recommendations and what works the best. Applications would help to. Sprays? or Gels?
:sweet:

Taryon 08-25-2004 02:31 PM

I use a foam called "No Touch" or something like that.. spray it on and let it moisten the rubber.. ;)

dawn01civ 08-25-2004 02:33 PM

I use Maguire's (sp?) spray.

Ledbelly 08-25-2004 02:35 PM

i used the armorall tire shine spray and after a week i got this greasy shit all over my car and rims.. guess what it was

i do not recomend it

bobbyd 08-25-2004 02:37 PM

I use Stoner's More Shine Less Time, Poorboy's Bold N' Brite, and I am awaiting my package of Shining Monkey to try.

ctx66 08-25-2004 02:46 PM

turtlewax tire wax

TeLLy 08-25-2004 02:55 PM

Meguiars Endurance Tire Gel. Smells like grape bubble gum. Lasts a long time, just wear gloves when you apply it, cause it'll stick for a while.

ZdS03Civic 08-25-2004 03:30 PM

I forget the name of the stuff but I hate using it becasue it gets all over my wheels if I spray it on.

jttegx 08-25-2004 03:31 PM

eagle one black magic or something like that
it doesnt shine as much as armor all on the first day, but it last very long. my tires still shinning like new for 2-3 weeks now. but im pretty sure theirs better tire shine products out their than armor all and eagle one.

thom 08-25-2004 03:33 PM

meguiars...ALWAYS.
meguiars soap
meguiars wax
etc.

dru106 08-25-2004 03:43 PM

Thats what sux about puttin tire shine on ur tires is that all the stuff goes all over the fender :(. I use black magic :D

Taryon 08-25-2004 03:45 PM

That's what's good about the Foam Sprays.. they wideness of the spray is enough to get onto the rubber only, maaybe a little on the rim but that can always be wiped off :p

SpeedFreak 08-25-2004 04:10 PM

I use Black Magic Gel.

rckdrmr 08-25-2004 04:10 PM

meguiars natural shine (red bottle) with a tire swipe, best i've used yet.

Nick 08-25-2004 06:37 PM

has anyone tried that monkey spit stuff.

Flashlightboy 08-25-2004 07:47 PM

303

Anything that turns the tires brown or washes off brown is bad, bad for your tires. The brown stuff, per Michelin, is their built in protector that is being destroyed by petroluem based products. Water based won't cause problems. 303 is h20 based.

Will do! It's supposed to be here on Monday. I will use it and let you all know how it is at first and give you some long terms on it. One vehicle we are testing it on will be my buddies 4x4 Jeep that he takes off roading all the time. I don't expect much to hold up on this vehicle but it will be a fun test. :D

So no petroleum based products? I like meguiar's hot shine tire spray, but it only lasts a few days. The endurance I ALWAYS get spinoff onto the paint even if I nearly wipe everything off. Anything else you can get at the store?

rckdrmr 08-28-2004 01:26 PM

just used the nxt protectant spray for the tires, nice shine (even smells good).

rckdrmr 08-28-2004 08:59 PM

actually... i am going back to the meguiars natural shine (red bottle). the nxt has a good shine, but it flung up on the wheel well  (wasn't a problem with the natural shine).

xtreme26 08-28-2004 09:05 PM

so the armoral is bad to use? cuz thats what i use

gearbox 08-28-2004 09:09 PM

Dang. Almost everything has petrolleum distillates. I used to use meguiar's hot shine, and it doesn't say whether it has them or not.

To be safe, I bought No touch wet n' protect tire finish. I know it sounds kinda generic, but it's a spray and does NOT have stuff that will damage the tire. I sprayed and let settle for 15 mins. It's hard to explain, but the tire looks like it's brand new. Pure black, and you can rub your finger over it without taking the shine stuff off. It feels like a regular new tire. It doesn't look super shiny, but it makes the tire nice and black. I think I found my new product :)

xtreme26 08-30-2004 01:15 PM

what brand is it made by?
