painting parts..need to make glossy

so i painted my custom dash piece...just rattle can stuff. so i did all the body work on it, sanded it with 320, primed it, sanded with 320 then 400. painted gloss black, sanded with 1500, then 2000, then used rubbing compound. its smooth as a babys butt...except its not glossy. should i clear it then use rubbing compound?? i will have to use somthing after clear cause im using a spray can...gotta even it out but i want it shiny..help me out.

Clear coating would have been a good idea, even though it's gloss paint. I wrote a detailed painting DIY of sorts in ICE and Electrical in a thread started by fonto, I think the title was "paint?" I don't know how well it'll stick after the rubbing compound/wax without sanding.

i dont want it to be tooo shiney...it looks good now but i might just let the wax wear off so that it blends in better.
