trunk mat

Is the carpeting in our trunks safe to go into the washing machine? I ask this because I spilled a bottle of NU FINISH all over the matt :hithead: (some one the sides, but not as bad as it is on the bottom carpet). Any suggestions are welcomed

You mean the molded carpet or the loose carpet matting that covers the spare tire? If it is just the loose carpet I say go for it. However, a steam cleaner or some oxiclean, brush, and shop vac shoudl take care of it for you as well. Nu Finish might of stained the carpet though.

try some of that carpet shampoo stuff at autozone. Might work. I think he's talking about the loose stuff. You know, another option would to be to ditch that carpet and fiberglass the trunk floor and paint it the same color as your exterior :D

Yeah, then if you spill wax on it who cares! LOL

lets say i get creative and do something where i put my sub in the floor, where do people put their spare tire when they do that? or do they just get rid of it?

as of right now, if the washer machine doesn't do the trick, i think i might just by a rubber trunk matt and put it over everything

Just go get a new peice of carpet. :P

They relocate their tire under the trunk.
