Body kit/Exhaust problem.

Ok, My XENON (urethane) bodykit melted to my exhaust. Any ideas how to get this burnt plastic off my exhaust tip. What really sucks is I have a DC Sports TCS exhaust so i REALLY want this crap to come off.

i just read a thread that asked the exact same question.

well i do have a xenon kit and it did melt. all i did was cut my bumper a little. all i need to do now is find longer rubber hangers and im set.

i sugguest u take it to a minekey, midas, or any of thoes places. they will probably heat bend ur pipes or hangers.

good idea, what about getting my exhaust to look good again?

Try and scrape it off with something plastic, of course you don't want to scratch it...umm i'm trying to think here, I don't know of any chemicals that would get it off. Maybe heating it up and using a plastic scraper to get rid of it.

:_doh: heating it up. I never thought of that. I am sure that will work as long as i don't burn myself. heh thanks .

Yeah, I would let the car run for a while or use a small propane torch and heat the plastic up a bit and then try to scrape it off. Might wanna wear a mask too cause the plastic fumes won't be nice.
