What does everyone use to get bugs off the front bumper?

Just was wondering what kind of products everyone uses to remove the bug off the front bumper.. thanks

elbow grease

I use degreaser, I'm not too familier with products sold at pepboys or whatever so I don't really know what to recommend.

vteclover030 05-15-2004 01:19 PM

tried the elbow grease.. those guys are stuck on there pretty good.. thanks though:(

Something like Spray Nine might work, a lot of people have that around the house.

I just use water and a car wash mit. If that doesn't work, they have bug and tar remover. But I use Meguiar's clear coat body scrub to get anything off paint.

most of the time a good scrubin gets them off...washing the car once a week helps keep them from really sticking on there.

my teeth

or a sponge with soap usually works fine for me ^_^

Spray them with a little WD-40 or Pam, go away, and have a coffee (or whatever).

They come off real easy then.

I just used the Turtle Wax brand Bug/Tar/Sap remover in a black spray bottle (not the aerosol can one) on my wifes Saturn with 2 months of bug guts caked on. The stuff worked GREAT! It was able to loosen the bugs up enough to wipe off with ease. The really tough bug hits required a little bit of elbow grease, but it was about 60% of the usual effort.
By far the best bug/tar/sap stuff I've used yet!

bug and tar remover wont mess up your car in the long run? When you hit a CICADA here they stick hard.....

Stoner's Tarminator

Bug and tar remover will strip any wax on the paint. Just reapply the wax in the area that you used the bug and tar, and you should be fine.

Well, I just let the Tarminator sit a little while and let the bugs dissolve and they usually come right off. You guys need to learn how to use some elbow grease too. ;) This day and age too many people looking for the magical product that will spray on and rinse off and let you on your way with no work. haha

i also use the turtle wax bug & tar remover (black bottle & is safe for all finishes) everytime before i wash to get rid of bugs, tar, etc... i just spray it on the front bumper and let it sit for a couple of minutes and everything wipes off easily, then i continue and start to wash the car. afterall... the front bumper is the part of the car that is subjected to the road the most, with all the road debris flinging up and so forth.

bobbyd 06-04-2004 07:51 AM

You guy make sure after using any of the bug removers to wax the spot again. It removes wax as well.
