Auto to manual ECU Okay so I'm planning on swaping out my at honda civic 2003 at to mt. My question is will running a Ecu from a honda civic 2003 with vtec will get me out of limp mode? yes i know, no vtec. And i know codes will pull up for the vtec. |
Re: Auto to manual ECU the ecu's programmed engine and trans will have to match the engine and trans that's in the car |
Re: Auto to manual ECU not an DIY article, moving to proper section |
Re: Auto to manual ECU You can do that as a temporary fix as long as you have the ECU, immobilizer modules and key from the same car and the time and desire to swap everything out. You won't be able to rev over 3500 RPM though because it will set a VTEC system code. I would suggest that you just get the proper ECU and have it flashed. However, if you really want to take the time to rig it, you can jumper between the ECU's pins for the VTEC solenoid and the pressure switch and that will keep it from setting a code and going into limp mode. I hope this helps |
Re: Auto to manual ECU Pretty simple actually Just run your stock auto ecu You will be able to drive around fine under 3000rpm. When you're ready drive to honda with the manual ecu. Make sure to uninstall the glove box and cross bar to make things quicker. They can code you're immobilizer and key to work with the manual ecu. You may need to ground out a fuse so the auto ecu thinks you're in "Park", to start the car. |
