Front End Problems/Noise Had a number of issues with all kinds of different noises. Have been eliminating one at a time. Car 2003 Civic EX w/ 175,000 miles - bought car w/ 151K Work to date: *4 Wheel alignment *New tires summer tires on front - balanced - 7000 miles on tires Tires were new on rear when car was purchased *New Control arms & ball joints *New ready mount struts both sides *New brake rotors and pads * Have check wheel bearings - no movement - no vibration or noise - no evidence of seal leakage. * Tie rod ball joints are tight. * Did not replace sway bar links because there was no play or looseness. * Have not had the front end re-align since replacement of struts & control arms - That will be done next week. Still have vibration in front that can be felt in steering wheel at speeds above 50 MPH. At low speed with windows open and listening closely can hear a barely audible clunk or thud when going over a certain kind of road imperfection. Where do I look next? What have I missed? |
Re: Front End Problems/Noise Come back after the alignment and see if anything changes. |
Re: Front End Problems/Noise First thing on his list is 4 wheel alignment. Good luck, I've been chasing a clunk on mine for about a year and I've replaced every suspension component that exists. Seems like youve done about the same. |
