2005 EX CV axle to Transmission Hey there. Got a snag, I think... Replaced the front drivetrain on the coupe this week; new hubs, bearings, axles, and transmission. Problem is, I can't seem to get the passenger's side cv to seat fully into the tranny. It feels like it's in there, but the boot is not flush against the transmission. I've pulled it out and pushed it back in, I've turned it and tried pushing it in again with no success. Any suggestions? Also, how the heck do I get the fluid back into the transmission? |
Re: 2005 EX CV axle to Transmission aftermarket axle? length could be wrong the fill plug is a 17mm bolt above the drain plug. either get a little hand pump to pump the fluid from underneath or get a long hose and a funnel |
Re: 2005 EX CV axle to Transmission Ok, I got the hose. Now....the axle lenghts are the same. I'm gonna try tapping it in... |
Re: 2005 EX CV axle to Transmission having the open part of the clip on the end of the shaft facing the bottom (6 o'clock) can help |
Re: 2005 EX CV axle to Transmission Thanksx Colin! |
Re: 2005 EX CV axle to Transmission I got it. Just needed a little encouragement from a mallet. :) When I opened the fill plug, oil came pouring outta there, which I didn't expect. Leveled it off and we are good to go! |
