Oil leak around cam pully [solved]

I have an oil leak around the cam shaft pully. I can see oil leaking out when I start it up. I have replaced the valve cover gasket. No change. I can see the oil leaking in that area, but not see where it is coming from. When it is running, it looks like I see oil coming from the bearing area. The belt gets covered in oil too. How hard is it to replace the cam bearing seal.
oh, might help to let you know what it in. 2003 Civic LX with a 1.7. Now this motor has less then 100k on it.

It's likely the camshaft seal leaking then. Camshaft has to be removed to replace the seal. Part number 91213-P2F-A01.

Thank you for the info. That gives me something else to look into. Hope that is the problem.

did you put a dag of sealant at the sharp edges of the valve cover gasket?

Yes I did. Saw that info in the book, on here and over on iTunes. That was my first thought, but the oil is not coming from there, it seems to be at the cam pully area.

Well it’s done. Replaced the cam and crank seal. Will do the other cam seal next weekend. It’s not leaking. From the videos I watched and what I read, I had to tear it all down to replace the old one, might as well replace the crank seal as well. Just wish the guys that put the motor together and replaced the timing belt, tensioner and water pump would have down those too. Oh well no since getting upset. It’s done and it is running fine!
