Program my own Key Fob 2019 Civic
 

I lost one of my keys. Luckily I have the 2nd set. I want to save myself as much money as possible. Just bought these two replacement keys from Amazon for $40. They were listed as compatible for Civic's 2016-2019

Does anyone know how to program these yourself DIY style ???

Ive already looked on Youtube and Google but there isnt much info on programming this key yourself.

I don't believe you can, think you need a locksmith. Hopefully those keys actually work and aren't just junk

I went through this process recently on a Nissan Sentra. I had to call a locksmith (Pop-A-Lock). You have to have the original key code and the computer has to then be programmed to recognize the new key. And the cost of the key (Original Nissan P/N) plus labor was about $250. Total time was about 1 hour. When you have to have it fast it costs $$.

Well, don't need a locksmith for it because Civic dealer will provide it quickly.

Diy lol, not impossible but if you tried to make a transponder/wireless programmer, and write software yourself in c++ or java you'd be spending quite a bit of time on the project; probably more time than it would cost to pay honda.

I'm sure buying the hardware and software isnt cheao either.

Definitely, it will take much time to complete the project and its better to get keys programmed by the dealer or any locksmith.
