Fuel door actuator Hey guys, I have an issue with my fuel door and every time I lock the car and makes this little grinding sound in the fuel door as if the locking mechanism has been stripped. Is it hard to replace and how do I get to it? Do I have to go through the trunk? |
Re: Fuel door actuator What kinda car you got? |
Re: Fuel door actuator Oh sorry I forgot to put that. I have a 2016 Honda Civic EX |
Re: Fuel door actuator Still under warranty? Let the dealer deal with it! |
Re: Fuel door actuator The warranty actually expired a couple of months ago |
Re: Fuel door actuator Inside the trunk there is an emergency fuel door release cable just in case the electric lock fails If the car has an inner fender liner, you'll have to remove part of that for access to the actuator, raise that corner and maybe remove tire for room to work And pull back the trunk liner on that side to access the cable and its grommet one electrical connector to unplug there are a few tabs to squeeze on the actuator then it comes out thru the filler area. If you have a new actuator in your hands before you begin you can see where all the tabs are, and decide how to reach them on the old one I have not had to replace any of these myself .....yet. Hope this isn't going to be a trend LOL |
