WTF does HP, WHP, BHP mean??

WTF do these mean???

HP == Horsepower
WHP = Wheel Horsepower?
BHP = Brake Horsepower....

What's the differences? I would assume WHP means what's at the wheel... So a 127hp Civic would be something like.... 97WHP? (i.e. whatever's lost through the transmission). What about BHP then? I always thought BHP was "Bitchin!" horsepower :)

ft/lbs torque, how does NM come into play? (What's the relational formula?)

Just wondering.... I've been watching alot of them british racing videos and such like TopGear :)

BHP Brake Horsepower is measured at the flywheel, Horsepower is at the crank(i think im not sure), and WHP is actual power at the wheels

NM neuton metres (mostlikely misspelled) is the metric conversion of ft/lbs. Thats how the Bimmers and Benzez and all european cars are measured.
