question about hp/dc headers

i have sri, and exhaust system with custom midpipe.. 2.25in.

if i add a hP header.. would that increase the noise level?

'cause i like the sound... the way it is right now.

any comments/info would help.
thx.

1llmatic 08-11-2003 06:13 PM

deeper tone.

BIG 08-11-2003 06:16 PM

you'll definately notice a difference....ask APRboy!!

nymbus2k 08-11-2003 06:47 PM

the noise level is noticeable as the engine's rpm increases

lower rpm range: like 1llmatic stated - deeper tone

mid-high rpm range (vtec): deep with a high pitch as you reach redline

Will add noise volume, but the HP gains are worth it.

What header do you guys recomend?

iamfob 08-11-2003 08:33 PM

ask redvic about HP cuz he had one on his car before he turboed it

and i dont know who have the dc header

but it does make a nice sound with one....sweeet

I have Redvic's HP header and i love it!! It doesn't get louder, it gets deeper. Bass is the magic word.

Did you notice any power gain?

Did you install it yourself?

BIG 08-12-2003 08:42 AM

yes he noticed huge power gains.....(0.9 seconds in the quarter mile with HP header, highflow cat, and cat back exhaust)

London Honda does all of our installs, so thats where he got it done

APRboy 08-12-2003 10:46 AM

Big is right, huge gains for me anyway. That's why i got it.

That's it, Im getting a HP Header.

Around how much should 1 cost? Is it stainless stee-l ceramic coated?

4-2-1 vs 4-1?

DETAILS PLEASE. Thx to all my bro's

Macfay 08-12-2003 03:29 PM

only 4-1 for our car, no 4-2-1 version...

Narc 08-12-2003 03:33 PM

Ya, I just checked out your ride profile and saw the pic...very sweet. Nice ride bro.

REDVIC 08-12-2003 04:15 PM

Yes you do feel significant gains with the hp header... Although you do loose some torque but is well worth the money... I purchased mine at Total performance source in Newmarket... They are also sold at Zorro's muffler in sauga... Bruno I'm gald your happy with yours! :_beer:

Thanks Jayson!! I'm just not happy with the sound of my exhaust now that it's all screwed up due to my girl's street being flooded and water getting in my exhaust. If the sound doesn't go back to normal, i'm gonna buy a new axle back. But the HP header is by far the best header for our car. I think they run about 450 for the top 4 to 1 piece.

aiights, thx for the info.

cue2k1: you end up getting that hp header yet>?
