WRX STI or EVO 8

Personally I think that the Sti with a sticker price of $29,000.00 is hard to beat becasue it has four wheel disk brakes with 12 inch rotors. I mean seriously you guys you can't beat that compared to a 280bhp Evo VIII. The Sti I think when it comes out this summer is going to be crowned import car of the century:hgrin: :hgrin: :hgrin: :hgrin: :hgrin: :hgrin: :hgrin: :hgrin:

nme3 04-04-2003 07:44 PM

yah cant wait to see it on the streets. to bad i cant afford one :(

Dr5D 04-04-2003 07:58 PM

maybe a dumb question, how much hp will the sti have?
anyways, i like the wrx look better then the evo i think...

HondaGuru 04-04-2003 08:01 PM

300BHP 300 ft lbs of torque

oh and dont forget the manually adjustable center diferental!

CuRiOuSfIsH 04-04-2003 08:13 PM

I would definately go Subaru... those Mitsus are not as reliable... maybe JDM EVO RS can beat it down... guess we gotta wait for the comparison ##'s. Oh yeah, the Boxer sounds.... always nice

Mbow 04-04-2003 08:23 PM

I'd take the subaru over the evo ANYDAY.. The evo looks like a cheap roller skate imo...

mykungfuisthebest 04-04-2003 08:27 PM

lol this isnt even a close comparison lol

slystad810 04-04-2003 09:01 PM

STi hands down...

Although they are both badass cars!@

BausHaug 04-04-2003 09:50 PM

I'm gonna be the oddball of the group and go for the EVO... I just don't like the way the STi's look. Not to mention I've had friends in Japan who owned both and I liked my friends Mitsu better (His was an Evo 7)

Ashock 04-04-2003 09:57 PM

EVO!! Although they need to tweak teh USDM version for sure or else it's gonna be STi by the looks. But I've been an EVO fan, so EVO!

Ichiban 04-04-2003 09:59 PM

The MSRP on a EVO 8 might be 28,xxx but I went to look at one today and the dealer markup was 14,xxx. The final price was something like 45,000. The dude tried to tell me that it had 271 hp at the wheels. He must think I'm stupid or something.

CivicVTec 04-04-2003 10:02 PM

both

Hefe 04-05-2003 12:32 AM

STI!!!!!!!!!!!!

ASWZero 04-05-2003 04:07 AM

I saw my first one on the highway tonight. North bound 101 going about 70 mph. It was silver and no one in the car believed my when it passed me up. I caught up to it and it was. Very nice, now there is going to be some competitiion in the SCCA. The new STi will not be able to compete in the 2.0 circuit.

AllMotorSi 04-05-2003 08:40 AM

No question about it, Sti all the way

injencivic 04-05-2003 08:48 AM

Subaru all the way, Mitsu. wont last as long, They have big problems with their motors

Definetly the STI, but I have heard rumors that Mitsu may bring a Ralli-art version of the Evo to compete if the STI sells well. But like I said thats just rumor.

CivicLX620 04-09-2003 04:08 PM

I would definitely go with the STI. It looks badass. I think the EVO 8 looks dumb anyway. I am tired of all these Japanese and American companies buying into the Euro Tail lights too. Just makes them look terrible. Just my 2 cents.

Subaru from the looks of it

But the car doesn't come with a radio!
Sooby will have a six speed though

CivicBR900EX 04-10-2003 12:19 PM

I had Mitsubishi Eclipse and WRX both, I said Subaru's quality is somewhat better than Mitsubishi, but Honda is still the best. Well, both cars started rattling after a while...but I gave up on these high performance cars, cuz after you get it, something better is gonna be on the market.

CivicBR900EX 04-10-2003 12:22 PM

by the way, I've just removed the BOV off my Scooby, it's a HKS BOV, goes pssssssssssssssssshoooo really loud. Wanna buy it?

"funny that most japanese manufactures got a couple parts are made by Mitsubishi"

Jon 04-10-2003 12:33 PM

the people in mitsu who brought over the evo8 to outcompete the wrx must have been completely shitfaced when they found out subaru was bringing the sti (2.5L) over here. if the ralliart version does come out, that would defintely be a way for mitsu to try and even out the 30 hp difference. but it still can't beat that delicious interior of the sti

papi2001civic 04-10-2003 12:35 PM

without a doubt STI ...... the evo looks cheap to me for some reason.

Zzyzx 04-10-2003 03:26 PM

Dont matter much, Evos arn't selling right now any way. To much of a mark up on them. There have been only 3 sales made here In las vegas, and they are still marked up 5,000+ over invoice for "Market value Markup" . My question is how can there be a market value markup when they arn't selling so there is no real market for them???

XxJDMCivicxX 04-10-2003 07:19 PM

STI for sure soo much sweeter!

born2xLr8 04-10-2003 08:09 PM

STI. The Evo does have a cheap look IMO. It's also too boxy.

RedDragon333 04-10-2003 08:41 PM

STI all the way, that thing is a monster!!!

anibal 04-10-2003 09:53 PM

Any of them will beat the civic in everything, performance oriented. i'm a Scooby fan, but both are really good cars...I'll take any of them any day.

NeoMagus 04-10-2003 10:12 PM

heres a real STi in jersey..

personally I like the Evo much better, hopefully I will pick one up in black soon...I dont like the looks nor the Interior of the STi, id rather go with the recaros...it may be 300hp but id rather have something that I like the looks of then something that I think looks like shit.

PhaTxToM 04-11-2003 12:24 PM
