Most common problem with CIVICS What is the most common problems with civics. Especially people with the 2001 civics has anything ever gone wrong with your car. If so please post. |
There is a Vehicles issues/problems forum. The major problem in ALL civics ALL models: RATTLES from the rear deck, door panels, and trunk. Followed by: Weak engine... That's about it, the civic is pretty reliable imo. |
The reason why all of the 2001 civics seem to have tons of problems is because they are the first model of the new generation. Never buy the first model of a car. As each year goes on more bugs are solved. Why do you think that the 2000 Si is so great. Nothing ever goes wrong with it. It is the last model with all of the imperfections worked out. |

Mine rattles sometimes, not common but does happen to a few 7th gen is tranny problems has happened to a couple members including myself. |
paint chipping... |
My 2001 civic's door rattles like a biatch, the suspention makes a click sound every once in a while the head unit rattles, the rear rattles also and its really slow... |
The one thing is that the rear quater panels get loose:cry: Or it could be that its been hit.... |
-rattly door panels; thankfully minimal rear deck rattle (I must be the only one) -limiter kicked in at a relatively low RPM (less than 7000) once, when I had the dealer check it out they could not find the problem. Hasn't happened since. I guess the hamster had a cold that day. |
I had a problem of a rattle that sounded like it was in the dash but took it to the dealer and they had the car for a month trying to find it. They finally found it in the driver side door panel and got it fixed. Now the dash rattles. Not too bad though, only when it's really cold out. like 20 or below. Other than that, the only problems I've had, oh wait, paint chip, other than those, the only problem I've had with my civic is the dealership being a bunch of butts. |
only real problem i've had with my 02 is the rear deck rattle. |
Rattles which the location or cause of cannot be pinpointed. :shake: |
Rattles alot on my car:_doh: |
I know me and alot of other people have problems with the front drivers seat rocking. This seems to be a common problem with the EX's. Anyone out there with a rocking seat thats not an EX? |
Yeah, my car rattles a lot and i have almost ruined my car trying to get it to stop :_doh: Another thing is that if you look at the car the wrong way or blow on it dents!! :shake: |
No rattles for me.:) |
Rear Deck rattled badly, I took it to the dealer twice and told them to fix right this time, so far no rattles:tup::tup: |
Those who say they don't hear rattles aren't listening for them. I used to say the same thing and drove one day without a radio and heard every single one. They're not bad enought to hear with the radio on like my old Accord or my old Celica, but they're still there. |

After just one year, all the imperfections with the 99 si were worked out and nothing ever goes wrong with it now?? :susp::susp::susp: |
