odometer reading difference I changed my rims to 205/40/16 on my si (in canada). But when i use the tire calculator thing on this website, it saids is 8.2% too fast. Does that mean when i go 80km/h, it is acutally going around 70km/h? can someone please explain to me thx |
The odometer has nothing to do with the speed reading. The odometer is the gauge that tells you how many miles on your car. The speedometer reads the speed you are traveling. The miniscule difference on the speedo and odometer won't make a significant difference. The speedo will most likely be off by around 5 miles per hour at the most. Sorry khms at the most. |
yeah, sorry i meant speedometer. But when i travelling in 80 km/h zone, i am going with 90km/h and everyone seems pass by me. So i am just wondering if it makes any difference with the speedometer if i had changed the tires |
Ok to answer the question yes there is a change. It is so minimal though I wouldn't worry about it. I have 205/40ZR17s on my car. I have noticed I am off by about 2 mph. |
so do they also change your odometer???? (maybe thats why my gas milage seems bad) but wait, it should be good, or... i need to sleep |
Yes it will make a difference on the odometer. Once again it is so minimal you really don't need to worry about it. |
