Is your aftermarket equipment insured? If so, how much more are your premiums? |
nope |
Not yet, but soon I plan on getting a quote on insuring all my mods, so I can over price them, set my car on fire, and get a RSX Type R I'm kidding, but no seriously, I do plan on insuring all my parts and wheels.... |
not yet . . . not worth enough to justify it |
mine is. |
35 extra per year to insure the wheels with a 250 deductible 65 per year to insure a 3500 dollar stereo system Sucks to pay the extra money, but I do sleep better at night. Remember stock wheels are only 45 each with 35 dollar hub caps. Tires are only 69 dollars each. And if they are only paying actual cash value, then you would get even less. Stock stereo is a head unit and four speakers. Anything past that and you are also out of luck. Been there, done that. Stuff all got stolen and car burned to the ground. The extra coverage got me an extra $2500 to start over with on the new car. |
You may want to check with your insurance company. American family for example, will cover anything that is replacing a stock part on your car at no additional charge. ie, intake, headers, exhaust, spoiler, etc.... However, anything added must be listed to your insurer and a cost of replacement provided, and then your premium will go up accordingly. ie, turbo, subwoofers, etc |
my stereo isn't insured, but my cf hood and headlights will be, long as i still retain the reciept |
The whole front of my car is all after market parts and i don't think any of it is..... hmmm :shake: |
