The Ultimate Geek Car? STUTTGART, Germany -- Mercedes-Benz probably didn't have the geek set in mind when it designed its new flagship 2007 S-Class sedan. But when the luxury car hits U.S. streets in February, it'll be packing a bundle of electronics that would make David Hasselhoff green with envy. An onboard radar system, automated acceleration and braking controls, and a night-vision display are among the features that Mercedes describes as the most advanced available in cars today. I read somewhere that mercedes was doing a demonstration of the radar-cruise control between 3 s-class cars, and they all crashed in to one another infront of the press |

I never understood why people needed so much gadgetry in their cars, I suppose it's all in the name of safety. But that car looks real nice. |
no thats wrong the ultimate geek car is MINE. i am the ultimate geek, therefore my car is the ultimate geek car.. rofl |
Wow..this is cool "The S-Class' Distronic Plus cruise control allows you set the speed while maintaining a specified distance between cars in front. Without the driver applying the brake or gas pedal, the car can slow down by itself to 0 mph in case the car in front of you stops or speed up to 125 mph. " But..would you trust it ? |

 Damn that sucks. $500,000 in damage to show off technology... and it didn't even work! You would expect that kind of damage to show how the crumple zones, or their seat belts or something... not to show off new radar technology. That is sad. It seems like I will never own a MB, not because I don't want one, but becuase they just aren't what they used to be. I wouldn't mind picking up a classic gull-wing SL if I ever have the money. |
