Radar/laser Detectors..

Ok, well I am currently in the market to buy one of the best radar/laser detectors that I can get my hands on for the right money.. so far with my research, Ive found that the two best are the Escort Passport 8500 X50 and the Bel Pro RX65. does anyone here own either of those, or have any word one which one is better? maybe another radar/laser detector that you know of thats better? lemme kno guys! thanks!

 that's cool. I just posted that because I saw a few people had the bel rx65. such as myself. I don't know much about the escort, but It seemed like the rx65 was pretty well rounded as far as range, effectiveness, selection.

IMO i suggest you save your money. in my state at least, the cops are switching from using radar to laser guns. i'm sure many other states are doing this if not going to do this soon. the two detectors you listed on top are very effective at picking up radar signals, but laser guns are very accurate and is very hard for radar detectors to pick up. at best, radar detectors will give you only a few seconds of warning for laser guns.

valentine one not only will they send you software updates for free and replace it for free if it's broken (if you send in the registration card) but they will pay for any tickets you get while using it. plus it's the most advanced in radar location triangulating to let you know in what direction it is coming from and how much of a threat it is. It does everything but smash the gas pedal down for you.

Valentine and Escort are the best

most cops have radar/laser guns now meaning they shoot you with it for 2 seconds. your detector will read it but by then its too late to do anything. useless imo.

i have the cobra XRS9700.....but i regret it now lol starting this year the new band KU will start to get in the hands of law enforcement......and the bel rx65 already detects that

wtf, how do they know that you're using their radar when you got the ticket??

sounds like a scam waiting to happen

I've had my escort 8500 for over 2 years and it's saved my ass dozens of times, I never understand why people say radar detectors are worthless.. true that lazer is a whole different story, but if you understand how things work how is it not beneficial?

radar can be picked up from the person in front of you getting timed, you're gonna tell me that if you're next its not gonna help you to have this tid bit of info?

I dont drive much faster with my radar, I just use it as an extra heads up for when I don't see cops. and like I said - it's saved me DOZENS of times.

bottom line: its very much worth it if u understand how it works, and dont gain a false sense of security from it.
