Do you use cruise control?

who uses it? i've never used it before.

nick95673 12-02-2005 11:58 PM

I probably use it 70% of the time.

12-02-2005 11:58 PM

On long drives, I'm all about cruise control and relaxing.

CuRiOuSfIsH 12-03-2005 12:38 AM

I also use cruise control, usually on long trips (over 4 hours). In the city, I use it at 1 perticular highway thats all straight and cops at just about every 2 exits.

MajinB 12-03-2005 12:40 AM

i do it to save gas. when in short trips not really. but on the highway its usually 80 cruisin.

$killer05coupe 12-03-2005 01:22 AM

i use it when driving home from work.

Pushpa 12-03-2005 01:27 AM

i want to but so many lights from school to home, school to work, work to home and on and on.....

i thought all cars came with cruise control.....is that dumb? i have no clue

Bad_Civc 12-03-2005 01:49 AM

i was just using it.. lol ... i was coming home from work and was using it..

i leave the button thing on so all i gotta hit is the button on the wheel.. i dont like how its got the 2 button thing to activate it ...

my moms monte carlo you just hold down the set accel button and it kicks on.. i thought that was the way it worked on the very first day i got my vic but then i realized like 10 minutes into owning it it dont..

i also dont like the fact i gotta hold down the damn sunroof button to open and close it .. other than that i like the options on my EX

dre2600 12-03-2005 02:27 AM

I do it sporadically on and off all day in constant flow traffic and sometimes later at night, especially in the winter, it makes driving on the ice/snow a bit easier I find because you're not constantly compensating for any lost speed. Having it steering-wheel mounted helps a lot naturally.

dalaw 12-03-2005 03:25 AM

I use it whenever i drive on a flat freeway with little traffic and my driving mood is in fuel saving mode.

def01tones 12-03-2005 04:16 AM

hate cruz control!! specially on the freeway. i think its a safety hazard, cuz what if the bitch in front of u slams on their brakes and ur just sittin there chillin and relaxed??? ur gonna smack that bitches car alright, cuz u were too slow to react.

Pedro Lopes 12-03-2005 07:47 AM

I turned mine on one time and my gas mileage was relly bad. I hate cruise control. Besides it's boring.

aznrocka 12-03-2005 07:57 AM

Same here...when i use mine, my mpg goes down. i think it depends on where u live. if u live somewhere it's hilly or mountainous (sp?), i don't think cruise contorl help.

CraigW 12-03-2005 08:50 AM

I use mine constantly ( if not, I find myself speeding) I don't use it in rain or snow and ice conditions though. That was always trouble for me.

gearbox 12-03-2005 09:27 AM

i use on long trips when my leg gets tired and traffic is thin. no it doesn't save gas.

TransformedBG 12-03-2005 10:12 AM

Used to use it.. Now i dont have it any more. So nope lol

CenZ 12-03-2005 10:16 AM

mine is broken :( it workes when it feels like it.

Buy a car with distronic it automatically keeps a certain distance behind vehicle in front.

tinman 12-03-2005 11:06 AM

When I didn't have it, I always wanted it. Now that I have it, I rarely ever use it.
Go figure.

civ10jbiz 12-03-2005 11:22 AM

welp..thats usually how it works..you want what you dont have then you get it and rarely use it...
but yea i use my cruise control all the time....esp. when i just get tired of drivin, but its prob not a good idea to use it when i get tired, because i always find my self almost fallin asleep behind the wheel since i dont have to do anything when its on cruise control except steer.

rjngo 12-03-2005 12:04 PM

use all the time when using highway..to save gas!

gearbox 12-03-2005 12:06 PM

it only saves gas on a flat road. on inclines and small hills, it will use more gas than you would pressing the pedal.

nick95673 12-03-2005 12:24 PM

to say its a hazard is a joke. its not auto-pilot its cruise control. If cruise control is a safety hazard you shouldnt be driving. all it does is steady your speed not one thing more. I hate when people dont use it on 2 lane highways that dont have turn outs for 20 mile stretches. the land is perfectly flat yet 1 minute the c*nt in fron of you is going 65 the next minute they are going 50.

eyegiant 12-03-2005 12:51 PM

I Use It When I Go On Long Trips, It Does Help Out With Mileage Too.

Got Torret's Syndrome?

I used my Cruise Control on I-5 when I take the 4-1/2---5 hour trip down to Exeter.

Now it's tweaking out, the button works on the left but when I try to set it, the stupid thing turns off immediately, might have blown a fuse, who knows..

Yoshiemaster 12-03-2005 02:48 PM

i havn't drivin on any long trips in my car yet. i'll probably use it when i'm going to the beach, but never in the city.

slicksivik 12-03-2005 03:17 PM

i use it after work usually. try leaving it on cruise control and then raise the speed button, just hold it down. feels like vtec haha. just starts pulling.

DDragon7 12-04-2005 01:48 PM

Never used it yet, maybe some day...
