Trial Production on 2006 Vics started Today :D
 

First day at Honda of Canada MFG, and guess what i saw?
Trial productions of the new 2006 coupes. Seems like all the coupes are looking like what we saw at the autoshow, it kept about 85% of what we saw in the pictures or at the shows.
About trim levels i'm not sure, but looking at the motor, i saw a D series motor, kinda like ours, not sure if its the same or not, someone said of a new 140 SOHC VTEC. but i'm not sure about that, it kinda looks like a TC from the side..from the front it resembles the TSX.. :susp: i'm stuck in Plant 2, which makes the Pilot, Ridgeline, and MDX. i'll fill in more details later about it.
But yeah, an exciting day !

Nope, not that i saw. The only thing i wonder is if the JDM models will keep the EP chassis or not..

do you know when they actually go on to showroom floors?

Will the Si be released at the same time as the other models??

the release date is in august or summer for the 2006 models and hte si isnt released until sema in november from waht i remember, but i want to see waht the sedan and other 2006 look like

the sedan and the non si's will have SOHC 140-160hp and the si comes with the 200hp DOHC. si only in coupe form as always. and i think the si's are 5 lug and the ex-vp and sedans are 4 lug if i remember but they all have 4 wheel disc. what else do i remember? oh the wing is for HFP only and wont come on the si's stock. thank god. lol thats all i know so far

the si is scheduled for a few months later than base models, i think the d-series motor will go in the dx,lx,ex with probaably a d18vtec, maybe ex will get the k20a1 to have 160hp (or d18 dohc as opposed to sohc )
take some pics dude!!!!!!!!!! it is so beyond nescessary that you take a few pics for us, and get some descriptions on colors, interior set-ups, ANYTHING YOU SEE TAKE A PIC EVEN IF ITS JUST A PART LAYING AROUND WAITING WETHER ITS AN INTERIOR PANEL OF A INTAKE BOX LETS SEE IT!

oh and lets all remember this is canada and they may be different from our models slightly, especially in regard to model badging since our current ex is their si.......

The Si has not always been a coupe. The only time it came as a coupe was the 6th gens, when Honda decided to try something different. Otherwise, it's *always* been a hatchback. Even the old CRX Si was a hatchback.

the si is scheldued for sema in nov in las vegas to be shown to the world, and the k20a1 is the type r version of the k series, k20a3 has 160 hp, why would they go up in liters to a 1.8? these cars are all about fuel economy and so forth, but i hope they have 4 wheel disc brakes, and if it is 140-160 now they can compete with the focus

thats why i did, i just dont want people to get confused, geesh this has been talked about forever, its cool he works near the factory and everything, but still there is nothing written out about waht exactly 100% is on the car and so forth

sorry thats what i meant was a3 the current si model, i think they would go up in liters by one tenth because they have every generation so far and i highly doubt they would continue with the d17. plus it would be easier for them to use current vtec and whatnot on a larger engine to get them to 140 hp raher than recalibrate a ton of things and stuff.

i know i sound very non-technical but im tired and gotta leave so im rushing lol

lol. haha yeah a spy cams all i need. but info would be released shortly, theres a monthy magazine called "The Spirit of Honda" and the information should be on next months issue, i'll post stuff about it up but by then who knows, information would probably be widely released by then.

is "the spirit of honda", released to everyone or is it just like a company magazine?

Its a company magazine. Basically shows like whats going on within the plant, activities things like that. kinda like a school newspaper.

Haha, yeah..but there should be a kickoff thing once the first production 06 vic is finished. Everyone kinda crowds around the car and they take a picture. Heres an example of when the first Pilot was made.

Its kinda blurry i know..i used my webcam..and kinda took a pic of the magazine..but its close enough :P And you kinda get the idea.

well everyone (big magazines like car+driver, etc...) are saying 1.8L probably D18.

really cause thats what I got from it but I could care less if it's wrong :shrug:
