anybody????????????

Well, it all depends what the car looked like. The brand-new Carrera GT "supercar" that recently came out is NOT available in a GT-S trim, so if that was the car that you saw, then that owner is full of shite. In any case, here are the only Porsche Carrera GTS's I could find info on, and their specs, and the specs of the new Carrera GT as well.

1963 Porsche 356B Carrera 2000 GS-GT:

1964 Porsche 904 Carrera GTS:

1981 Porsche 924 Carrera GTS:

2003 Porsche Carrera GT:

No thats not them it was the new bodystyle they have out now. It definately was not the 2003 model.

11.4 in the quarter, thats nothing for what you pay. maybe the "0 - ΒΌ mile" is differrent thatn ours. im talking about the '03 gt

nookiemonster 01-13-2005 12:39 PM

Okay, why is the quarter mile times all that a supercar should be about? That Porsche would sooner sit in my garage than a viper.

jiggerachi 01-13-2005 12:40 PM

Ive saw the same thing the other day, with the S over the name, so it definately is a production car.

It was the same body style of the new 911 carrera

Yeah thats exactly what I saw, I'm just wondering what kind of engine is in them, turboed or n/a, what hp/ tq they have, what times they run???????

evopanop 01-13-2005 01:46 PM

I'll repeat it again, there is NO GTS or GT-S Porsche that is new. (If you can find information on the internet that shows otherwise then by all means please post it up, and prove me wrong, as I'd love to see/hear about this new "GT-S/GTS") There IS a new Carrera S. It's specs are as follows:

Price: $79,000
Engine: 3.8L Opposed 6
Aspiration: Natural
HP: 355 @ 6600 rpm
HP/Liter: 92.9
Torque: 295 Lb-Ft @ 4600 rpm
Weight: 3131 Lbs
HP/Weight: 8.82 Lbs per HP
0-60 MPH: 4.6 Seconds
Top Speed: 182 MPH

jiggerachi 01-13-2005 02:09 PM

^Maybee it was the Carerra S, now that I think about it I dont recall seeing a GT on there, but I didnt really pay attention. I only noticed the S was over the name...

realitycheck 01-13-2005 02:16 PM

Yeah maybe thats what it was, did the one you saw have the tailpipes that were round and then like another half of one welded on the sides?

jiggerachi 01-13-2005 02:23 PM

^ I think so

realitycheck 01-13-2005 02:56 PM

Thats probably what it was then, I wonder the 1/4 time on this?
Ill see if I can find them.

realitycheck 01-13-2005 03:04 PM

car and driver says 12.6 in the 1/4.
