The other day i was driving down the highway and i got a lil bored so i decided to have some fun around some turns and when i got out of the last one i let it rip. I was in 4th and only doin between 5 to 6 thousand rpms(don't remember exactly) and about 115mph and the engine cut out on me...i didn't think it was supposed to do that quite that early. I know some cars are governed by speed but i thought our cars were done with rpm's and it would only do that at a certain point in redline. WHY O WHY

That's weird? I've gone 120mph and nothing happened except for the car shaking like crazy.

Our cars and all cars are goverened to stop people from doing exactly what you were trying to do I mean come on 115 mph on a highway, give me a break. Is there someplace you had to get to that fast?? I for one am glad that are cars are rpm goverened, because I know that we can't hit as high as I used to in my mustang, bronco, or charger r/t.

the govenor on the lx cuts in at 115mph, and i believe the one on the ex comes in at 125...

you can override the govenor tho, but its gonna cost you, you gotta buy yourself a new ECU and jet chip!

car shaking? is something wrong here? i've been up to 115 and the car was smooth as silk. i have an ex, but i don't think that should matter, cause the shaking at speed sounds like it could be a suspension thing, i don't know for sure. hmmm

AFlyer, were you in 5th gear? because spoony was in 4th and thats why his car was shaking, cuz his governor kicked in..
