DOHC i-VTEC I Engine K20 (K20B) Just went to Honda Japan's website and found this out...... 2.0L DOHC i-VTEC I Almost work like K20A3 with VTC on one side 156hp engine Mated with CVT 7-speed mode Extreme lean burn, A/F 65:1(I can't translate that from Japanese) Vertical fuel injector(vs. all others with angled injector) VTEC-E intake structure New grooved piston Dual balance shaft http://www.honda.co.jp/tech/auto/eng...mage/co01l.jpg http://www.honda.co.jp/tech/auto/eng...am0311025h.jpg |

the fuel injection placement looks very similar to the Mitsubishi GDI method. |
Nice. Wonder if they're putting that in the new super duper psyched up but toned down but refinished but overdone but wanting oh so badly '06 Civic? |
impressive |

Here we go..... http://world.honda.com/news/2003/4031127.html |
It's nice that Honda has the video too..... http://world.honda.com/HDTV/news/200...27a/index.html Anyway, it looks like rather old information, but I think it's still good to post the pictures here and make a dream for us(in 06 Civic).... |
I hope we all pay attention to why we have direct ignition, returnless fuel system, etc....In the video, even though it's for i-VTEC I, it shows that not only the timing changes, but the fuel injection time is also changing....Except that we don't have second cam and VTC.....Honda is making every car to do the same intake job like the VTEC-E though, even with i-CDTi(diesel engine).. |
eh its auto |
direct injection. nice. very few cars have that. audis NEW A6 has it. |
^^^ its CVT!!! |
Is it still 16 valve? |
ooh, they are using a chain now.. belts that break suck on hondas cause if the timing belt breaks, the valves are fuxored |
cool stuff. |
niceness |
This Engine is currently in use. I have seen pictures and posts of the actual car..not avalible in the US.. Car comes in a few different styles as well. but unfortunately the 2.0 version only comes avalible in Automatic. The car ..is the exact same as our regular vic's. but of course we dont get the trim's and fixing's. the 2.0 of course comes with as stated roughly 155hp..the DOHC i-vtec water cooled 16 valve engine. the lower end vic's that are offered have roughly the same power out put as ours except sliiightly higher all at roughly 130hp which include from the VTi-S and the VTi. The 2.0's have a 2.0L DOHC i-Vtec sticker on the side of the car as well as body colored mud flaps as well as Hydrophillic Mirror's... The 2.0 also comes with the Optitron Gauges in RED instead of blue..which looks hella sweet might i add.. unfortunately only avalible for auto's. and of course.....they get either kickass black leather seats...or just nice fancy black moquette seating. far better than our stock seats of course... If ya want some more info go to http://www.redlineam.com/forum/showt...hp?p=56#post56 There's a picture of the engine in the engine bay.. |
hmm interesting, itd be really nice to see it in an 06, i might even consider a trade, then boost that mug. Be kindof a challenge, but mes like a challenge |
I don't think you can boost that car at all....It really is completely a DOHC VTEC-E with VTC and direct injection, which will modify vurtually everything, I really mean everything, that you put into the engine..... |
v-tec evolution. |
Hmmm... interesting read.... |

not liking the chain idea ... reminds me of bicycle chains and how they can freeze up and then it's real difficult to get it back to normal ... haha the vtec cam looks weird ... looks like a non-vtec cam |
pretty cool stuff |
