Thumping suspension So this is my first time posting on here, as I just bought a '95 Civic coupe EX stick. It has 200k miles on it, so it needs some work. First thing bugging me is that whenever I make a left turn, something seems to be knocking/thumping from the right front wheel. Is this a sign of a bad CV joint? I did notice that the boot is ripped clean open the other day, don't know how long it's been that way. The problem does not happen when I turn right however, or when I drive in a circle in reverse. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! |
Re: Thumping suspension Could be a cv joint but they make a sound more like a clak or pop repeating. |
Re: Thumping suspension If it's not the CV joint, what do you think it could be? A suspension bushing of some sort? |
Re: Thumping suspension Is it a repeated popping sound? More than likely its you cv axle......very common issue and not that bad to DIY....theres videos on you tube. Check this one out. Listen closely to the sound it makes and see if its similar. Theres music going so its hard to hear.
