Simple job, not so simple?

How's it going, bought a 1993 Civic good shape just has one working rear speaker. I bought a replacement set tried to install a front speaker and couldn't get any sound from it. I wired the blue to the positive speaker wire, and the gray to the negative. Took some pics, in the attachments. I've just switched from domestics, heard imports where easier to work on what's the deal  Thanks for any help.

Thanks for the reply. So I could have a bad radio, that only goes to one speaker? If it's not the radio, where would I follow the wires to to find the source of the problem?

Does the radio power on? If not, bad radio

Do you have voltage at the end of the speaker wire when the radio is on (via voltage meter)? If not you have a bad connection, trace the wire from the speaker back to the radio, something isnt connected in between. You'll have to pull some interior pieces off but it'll be a good job to figure out where stuff is in your car. Good thing you have an older one, the newer they are the more wires they seem to cram into our cars.
