95 AC Cool But Not Cold

I finally got my AC system up and running and it works to a point. It pumps cool air but not nearly what you would expect. the system had some R134 in it already according to the gauge on the filler and I managed to get one can into it more or less. Still after 15 to 20 minutes run time on two different occasions I can't get the pressure to go beyond the middle of the blue zone or 33 to 35 LBS. When it came up from the bottom of the blue the air got colder with that second application but it's still not very cold. What next?????

I would suggest that you take it in to a repair shop where they will take out the old R134 and condensation, then put in new gas. I have tried what you did with little success then took it in. Best $120 I spend this summer.

Yea that would do it but I just can't get my head around handing out that much cash for a 5 minute job. I did manage to get some more in with a couple more quick sessions. Further I found out that Autozone has a tool lend program and lends he vac for 200 dollar deposit. I just have to get down there. Here is a lesson learned. My idler pulley came off and I lost the retainer plate and nut though the pulley stayed rolling around between the belts. The lesson is that of all things that idler pulley nut needs LOCKTITE or it will come off. I had that puppy cinched down as hard as you would dare with a bolt that size.
