Civic 96 4dr passenger window stays down? Im helping a buddy with a Honda Civic 1996 4dr automatic. The window on the passenger site only went down and cannot get it in the up position. I replaced the motor and rails unit but the problem did not got resolved. I tried to switch form the back passenger site and does not work I also tried the from switch on the back window and works, also I check the fuse it looks good and when I touch the motor while pushing the button I feel vibrating but no motor movement. Can anybody tell me what I need to do next to solve this issue and make it possible for the window to work again? |
Re: Civic 96 4dr passenger window stays down? I would try applying battery voltage directly to the isolated\disconnected motor leads to see if the window will move. |

Re: Civic 96 4dr passenger window stays down? There should be a 2 pin connector and 2 short length wires leading to the motor. You can apply voltage to the pins if they can be accessed, or slice some insulation off a small area of the wires to apply voltage. Avoid touching the bare wires if possible to avoid the inductive kick voltage from the motor windings, and you may need to reverse polarity to get motor to go up. If the motor will still not move it may be bound somehow. |
