Runaway idle

I had a water leak on the intake manifold, so I replaced it with a junkyard maniflold and throttle body. After connecting everything I started the engine and it immediately ran up to 4,700 to 5,400 rpm (the throttle cable is disconnected and the idle screw is loose). Of course I shut it down and re-checked all the connectables. I found a vacuum hose not connected, re-connected the hose. Same results when started again. Anybody had this happen or know what I did wrong?

Re: Runaway idle

Might still be a vacuum hose not connected. Also if the it is not sealing properly and there is a leak between a gasket.

Thanks for the response. I am going to step away for a while, then I will put fresh eyes on it later. That way I may be able to catch a vacuum hose not connected because at this time everything looks connected. If any of the vacuum hoses are clogged would that create the fast idle or the opposite? New throttle body gasket....fresh eyes later.--
