Is this a normal temperature

I have a 1999 Honda civic DX and the running temperature gauge runs right below the water symbol is this normal?

Yeah that's normal. Once it warms up the top of the needle should be just below the bulb of the thermometer on the temperature gauge and pretty much not move at all.

that can be a good thing or a bad thing,

it all depends on who is making the video,

dont assume all the videos on youtube are good advice
