1997 Honda Civic Acceleration Problem When I accelerate slowly the engine pulses until I gain rpm's to around 2500 to 3000. It's a subtle pulsing and the engine power is very limited. This problem is extremely prominent when the engine is cold. When the engine is cold there is a very noticeable lack of power to the engine. I've changed, spark plugs, checked the distributor points look great, Air filter is brand new, fuel filter new, and I pulled each fuel injector out and cleaned the proper way. Would a bad transmission cause the pulsing? I think the tranny is on it's way out. A slight metal on metal sound in first, and third mostly. |
Re: 1997 Honda Civic Acceleration Problem The engine has a dead miss and the Check Engine Light has been flashing angrily? |
Re: 1997 Honda Civic Acceleration Problem No check engine light... If the light is not thrown would I be able to pull a code?.. dead miss? |
Re: 1997 Honda Civic Acceleration Problem I'm assuming from your description the engine is misfiring. Does the CEL work when you first turn the key on, or is the bulb burned out? Yes codes can be stored even with no light. |
