Thinking about buying a different honda, would like some advice. Tried to post this in a general topic section, but could not so I'm posting it here. I currently have a 99 Ex D16Y8 A/T with 102k miles. The car is basically halfway to being completely overhauled now, and I'm really just sick of spending money on this particular car. But I like Civics, and would like to get another, but I don't know a lot about different generations and was hoping to get some input on what I should be looking for. I'm not looking for a race car, just basically a commuter car to get me to and from school and work, but I don't want the lowest end model. What are the advantages of 6th gen VS 5th gen and vise versa? Also, I know little about what engines are in 5th gens, I think they are mostly B series, as opposed to D series in the 6th gens, and I would like to know the advantages and disadvantages of each series, as well as which type of engine I should be looking for to suit my driving needs. Keep in mind I'm not looking to spend more than maybe $6000. |

Re: Thinking about buying a different honda, would like some advice. there's also some more information for the suspension on them. https://www.civicforums.com/forums/3...what-they.html I don't have much on the way of engines, computers and OBD ports, and the carbed versions, though... |

Re: Thinking about buying a different honda, would like some advice. Okay the link(s) are helpful, however I'm looking for some objective opinions from people who have driven many hondas and/or done multiple engine swaps. Which engine types are known to be more problematic than others? |
