rpms surging I have a 97 civic HX with a surging problem. I bought the car about a year and a half ago and it still has the problem but here are the issues Problems: Car turns off randomly Rpms surge when car is warm Also surges after I run the car at around 40 mph and then slow down to around 20mph Lights dim when I accelerate If I break the Rpms rev up to 2k When car is warm and comes to a complete stop, car struggles to stay on There's a few more that I can't think of... Things I've done: I got a new battery Alternator checked and is good Cleaned the tb Cleaned the intake manifold Changed both tb and intake manifold to skunk2 problem was still their so switched back to stock Things I have: I have a small sound system And a viper alarm I have a feeling it's the eld I'm not sure Any suggestions on what I should or if any one knows how to fix it that would be great Thank Oh I also have 3 cel I'll post them up late |
Re: rpms surging thats is your idle air control valve thats causing the surge, take out the intake air box tube look at your throttle bodie door valve before it on the inside wall, there should be a small hole where air is suck in do this when the car is at temp , carefully use your finger or to block that hole and watch the car run normal, and if so just replace the idle air control valve |
