Check engine light and car vibrating

As I was driving my car, it started vibrating when I would accelerate. After about 20 seconds of this, the check engine light started flashing. I pulled over and turned the car on and off. The light kept flashing and as I drove, it started vibrating more. It is now vibrating even when I am not accelerating. It also vibrates a little bit when it's in idle. The mounts are fine and the oil is also fine.

What should I do? What could this be?

Stop driving it.
You can damage the catalytic converter, if it isn't already too late.

It's a misfire.
Get it fixed.

Simple, no?

Do you know how long it takes to fix it or how much it costs?

Re: Check engine light and car vibrating

Nobody can give you answers like that.
Nobody knows yet what is causing your problem.
A hundred different possibilities.
We can sit in our Lazy-Boy recliners and guess all evening.
All we know is the symptoms you described.
Once someone (a professional) knows exactly what is causing your problem (a diagnosis), then a price estimate can be made to effect a repair.

There should be a fee for the diagnosis.
Knowledge and answers aren't free.
I hope the answers given to you are correct.

Then you deal with fixing the cause of your problem, after someone knows what it is. You should now have an estimate to fix that.

Take it to a reputable, competent technician.
Tow it if necessary.
Have your credit card ready.
