What to do with '97 DX stock engine?

So my '97 honda is approaching 180k miles. I've decided rather than to do maintenance on the engine/trans I'll just do a swap. Does anyone see any potential mechanical issues (besides the engine and/or trans dieing) with just driving it until the timing belt breaks or trans goes, at which point I'd get the swap done? I live close to http://www.jdmenginescorp.com and they said they would do the swap. I also have AAA.

seems like a lot more work to swap an engine rather than change the timing belt and water pump, not to mention more money? why not just do the swap and sell the old one for a couple $$?

I'd do the timing belt fix, its only going to cost you like 200 bucks tops, or do it yourself for the price of the water pump and belt.

I guess I should clarify. I was thinking of doing an upgrade to a b16.

Have any suggestions as to how/where I can get that done for $200? I have asked a few places and I'm getting quoted around $700. That was in Utah and now Texas. I feel violated.

I was thinking of doing it myself but I've heard mixed messages about how difficult the procedure actually is. I've just changed out the radiator and I changed the oil pan gasket last year. I've replaced the thermostat, brakes, temp sending unit, fuel pump, alternator. That is the extent of my experience under the hood. It is a second vehicle and I love to learn more about car repair. But I'm also afraid of messing up the timing.

It's an '97 dx
SOHC
182k miles
manual
1.6L
non vtec

Any input is appreciated. Thanks.
