JL Audio W6 Subs... Are these subs good for SQ or SPL or both? Can I use my current box (two 12" sealed, 1.x cubic feet, less than 1.5, I think) for W6 subs? I believe that they are 3 ohms each so when I wire them in parallel the amp would see 1.5 ohms. What is a good amp for two W6's? |
get MMATS Juggernaut... better for both u wont be sorry, jl audio dont stand behind its warrantys, and mmats is a way better sub... just giving ya my opinion n experinces.. -Big Wing |
one of my friends has a 12" jugg and its loud as heck but not enough sq. for my taste. my other friend has 2 12" mmats pro's in his firebird and they have better sq. |
If you want JL's then go with the W3's not the W6s' |
JL W6's are dual 6ohm subs designed for SQ ..but their of an OLD design..the never W3's are a superior overall sub... the W6 v.2's are even better.... JUGGS are not gonna sound as good as a W3 or W6 properly setup..that subs very peaky no matter what enclosure you put it in...it's not a bad sub..just not on par sound wise as JL W3's...SPL Wise..with enough power it'll kill W3's.. In that same price range for great SQ..good low end.. good SPL in a small sealed application.. Audiomobile EVO's fit the bill, Adire Audio Shiva's fit the price-sound bill..but they like big boxes . Memphis HP subs do as well..but $$$$$$$$...1 single sub for $305US can beat a pair of W3's in SQ and SPL sealed.. the IDMAX..... You have alot of Options..JL's are good..but their warranty backing isn't that good.. |
