Weird Door Lock Behavior Over the past couple weeks I've noticed some weird door lock behavior that I'm hoping to get some pointers on. Looks like with either the fob or the master door lock I can reliably lock/unlock all the doors but the drivers door. With the drivers door about 75% of the time I can unlock it while only about 25% of the time does it lock. If I listen carefully I can hear the relay in the door trigger but the lock does not respond. I have replaced batteries in the fobs and charged the car battery (which is only a few months old). Any ideas? |
Re: Weird Door Lock Behavior Weak power lock motor? |
Re: Weird Door Lock Behavior Hey guys, I'm still struggling with this issue... Looks like all of the power door locks are tying to respond but only the rear driver side is reliable. E.g. I can her the relay firing to raise/lower the lock but it's not strong enough to fully lock/unlock. Any help would be greatly appreciated! |

Did you ever replace the weak motor on your drivers door? |

I can reliably lock/unlock all the doors but the drivers door. If the motor is jammed up, it may be drawing too much current to allow the other motors to work right. It’s a common circuit. |

Time to open up the drivers door.. Try unplugging the driver door motor and see if that solves your other doors not working right. If the motor is jammed up, it may be drawing too much current to allow the other motors to work right. It’s a common circuit. |
Re: Weird Door Lock Behavior OK...pulled the drivers side door panel off and disconnected the driver door lock motor (there were two connectors) and the locking behavior hasn't changed. The rear driver side door seems to be perfectly responsive but the other two doors are intermittent/weak. While the driver door is disconnected is the next step to do the same to the passenger door? Then to the passenger rear door? |
Re: Weird Door Lock Behavior I've got all the door lock motors disconnected with the exception of the rear drivers side (which seems to be functioning properly consistently). I then plug in any one of the three other doors and get the same response (inconsistenty/weak). I'm guessing there's a relay somewhere that I could try replacing? Any other ideas while I have the car torn apart? Thanks! |
Re: Weird Door Lock Behavior The one that still works is the good one. The others that barely try are bad. Replace all of them. |

I went ahead and ordered the other thee actuators but while I'm waiting I removed the good actuator (from the rear drivers side) and plugged it into the passenger rear side and it still works like a champ. I guess the wiring/relay are OK then; at least to the rear passenger door. I'll update things when the new actuators arrive. |
Re: Weird Door Lock Behavior easy install.. save all white clips or go to junkyard and get a pocket full. |
