Subs Frozen

ok so right now where i live (Wyoming) its been in the negatives for the past week. this morning i started my car up at 7:30 and it was-25, without wind. my subs are covered on ice. i havent turned up my stereo because i dont know if its bad for the subs or not. so thats where i need your help. is it safe to turn it up with the subs frozen?

shoulndt use them until every thing is dried out (and i mean 100% dry), the same goes with any electronic stuff.

Why are the covered with ice? Do you have moisture in your trunk?

HOLY CRAP!

It isn't good for anything electrical to be covered in water, especially not frozen!

*So yes, I would let them thaw for a couple of hours first at room temperature. Marinade acordingly with your favorite spices and dressings. Cover the frozen subs in Reynolds Wrap brand foil, place in oven on warm for a few minutes until subs are lightly toasted and brown. Let subs sit for a couple over minutes before enjoying!

:hgrin: Okay I was just joking about that last part.

i wish i could say that, but up here at 7,000ft the negatives arent a rare thing. in fact, my citys average temp is lower than alaska, so we are always cold.

i would get some sort of space heater and leave it in the car at night. i do that here and we never see negatives. i hate getting in a cold car. i just run an extension cord to my car and plug up my heater at night. its not hot enough to catch fire and shuts off if it gets too hot. its just like a fan that blows on a heated element. it doesnt even get red hot. keeps the car at about 70 degrees. just an idea.

So were you like driving with your windows down and trunk open and thats why there was water on your subs? Cause I pretty much saw a guy do that today. It cracked me up he went threw this massive puddle entire car disappeared for a few seconds when the water displaced when he parked the car it was in a sheet of ice.

2002civicLX2002 01-15-2007 10:14 PM

no, im guessing the moisture in the air is what caused the ice on my subs

_unclejuice 01-15-2007 10:19 PM

shouldnt be moisture with negative temps. im no scientist, but i think the moisture would freeze. get a $20 heater from walmart and be done with it.

Maverick_1337 01-15-2007 10:22 PM

wow that sucks

spoonEM 01-16-2007 11:11 AM

Luckily none of my stuff has frozen yet....and its been freakin cold lately.

TRIZ 01-16-2007 12:08 PM

snow n rain here, its going to be ice tomorrow morning... no subs though. But hoesntly, I wouldnt drive my subs at all if they were frozen.

spoonEM 01-16-2007 02:10 PM
