ragingSPAM 09-28-2005 01:07 AM

bamb00 09-28-2005 02:14 AM

what are you trying to do

igetmadchocha 09-28-2005 12:58 PM

I have been looking for an alarm system to purchase, this is one of them. It seemed like a good deal even tho the price is cheap like crazy. I don't have such a big budget, being im in high school and I can't work all the time. I just need something somewhat cheap and something reliable.

ragingSPAM 09-28-2005 01:45 PM

Ibtl!!!

if u want something cheap and reliable go with a crimestopper basic for like 100 bucks...even tho there is no remotestart and pager remote its better than that brand listed above...like with everything else you get what u pay for...i can also get u a crimestopper with remote start and pager alarms for 200...it has almost a 1.5 mile range on the remote

This same thread that was deleted in the tech forum was deleted because it sounded as if the member posted it as he wanted to sell it or solicite it, he never asked for anyones opinion on how the product was or asked if anyone had it, he simply said "any comments appreciated". SO I took that is he was trying to solicite it. so I locked it. But here it sounds as if he wants to know if anyone has it and if its any good, so its ok to me. But if the mod in this forum feels otherwise, he will take care of it.

Now as far as the alarm, similiar alarms with the same items sell for between $300-$500, any seeing as this is a $89 alarm system that features a remote start and a paging system, I would be really suspicious. Its nice that is cheap, but it pretty damn cheap. And the saying always goes "you get what you pay for".

Al Gore FTW 09-28-2005 01:50 PM

yeah, ibtl. for that price, that thing probably does nothing.

Kyle23 09-28-2005 02:01 PM

That price is low as hell but also remember that all starters/security systems r only wires for the most part. I got my $500 Clifford at a Best Buy discount of like $120 which is 10% above cost.... So if this company gets their stuff for really cheap or would rather just sell a crap of them to make $ then that's their business because they wouldnt b making very much off of ea one.

It is kinda suspecious though.

grenloch101056 09-28-2005 04:18 PM

thats true that alarm systems are mostly wires, but when a starter gets involved I'd rather have something with a higher build quality and tighter tolerances in equipment thats taking control of my car. I'd really hate to have my car burn down because a crappy relay overheated while starting my car.

dre2600 09-28-2005 04:29 PM

Those remotes look like old Startrek tricorders :)

And in the word Thor, only the letters "HO" have been boldened.

MegaHurtz 09-28-2005 05:25 PM

looks like rancid garbage

MegaHurtz 09-28-2005 05:26 PM

rememebr that you typically get what you pay for

and I'll leave it at that

grenloch101056 09-29-2005 01:27 PM

^ I second that notion

AggressiveAdam 09-29-2005 05:54 PM

thats one ugly remote

bOoStEd042dr 09-29-2005 06:05 PM

if it works for ya good, better than not having anything imo
