Amp Techs

Okay I really wanna know all about how amps work...coz i have absolutely no clue what im doing.......i have two subs (JLW3) each 250 W so a total power wattage of 500 W.....from what i know i need an amp that can push upto 500 W but no more than 500 W - am i right????? well im looking at the Kenwood KAC 748 and for its power rating it says:

Bridged Power Output at 14.4V (1kHz, 0.8% THD): 100 Watts x 2
Maximum Output Power (Bridged): 200 Watts x 2
Power Output at 2 Ohms, at 14.4V (1kHz,0.8% THD): 50 Watts x 4
Power Output at 4 Ohms, at 14.4V (20Hz-20kHz, 0.08% THD): 35 Watts x 4

What in the world does all this mean.............is this amp suitable for my two subs???
Please help me out here!!!!!!

I don't think that that amp would be the best choice for you subs. The JL W3s can take more than their rated power, so don't worry about going over. Also, I don't thinkt hat a 4 channel amp would be the best choice. PLease let us know which W3s you got, dual 2ohm voice coils of 4, etc. In my opinion, dual 4 ohm voice coils in parallel would have a 2 ohm load which you could connect to either channel of a 2 channel amplifier or in series for a total of 4 ohms connected to a bridges 2 channel amp would be your best bet.
