remove sound deadening? Well in my crazy project a while back, I put alot of patches on the floor that I want removed cause it didn't help road noise. Is there a way to get it out? Dry ice didn't work, and it's really hard to scrape. |
If you heat it with a blowtorch it should come up easier (i'm assuming you used something with an aluminum outer layer) Other than that, you gotta scrape, and clean the residue with some acetone. |
Not what I wanted to hear at all. Thanks. |
I tried removing three layers of dynamat in my truck when I had sold it... couldn't happen. Comes off in pieces so it wasn't worth taking it off. Used a heatgun. |
Go to a hardware store, or walmart, both should have them, and get a heat gun. Might cost you 25 bucks for a cheap one. Heat it up and it should peel off with a little effort. |
it's gonna be super tough to get off but extreme heat should help it If you really want to get rid of road noise, cover the whole floor, not just in patches |
why even bother...its not hurting anything?? |
I wanted to save weight...like 10lbs. I'm sure it helps a little. |
haha..go on a diet. |

100 lbs takes 1/10th of a second off 1/4 mile times. Saving your 10 lbs is cutting 1/100th of a second. That difference could be made up by a 1-2 degree change in temperature or humidity, or if you ate a big breakfast or took a crap before you raced....10 lbs doesnt do anything. |
