noise help and new head unit pic *EVEN MORE PICS NOW!* http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...3/DSC02451.jpg Rockford 8250....basically the Denon unit. im chasing down a noise problem so i swapped head units. it doesnt fit in my custom dash cut out thats why its bare. my buddy had this one laying around so im gonna use it. good news is the deck is sweet, bad news is the noise is still there, engine noise from the front left that gets louder when AC is on. here is what i have tried 3 head units (rockford RFX9320, Kenwood 911, and the 8250) different RCA's 3 amps (X1.800.4, mtx 4300x, another X1.800.4) two ground points for amp and head unit new battery ground up next is a small wire from battery to amp, and battery to headunit ground point...any other suggestions |
Wild! I get engine noise on the right (front, but I only have two speakers amped). I still haven't fixed it. I grounded and regrounded and sanded and resanded, but to no avail. I reversed my RCAs, and the sound switched to the left side, so I know it has something to do with my RCAs (and not an exposed speaker cable or something). If you figure out what is causing your noise, let us know... I would suggest reversing your RCAs to make sure it isn't a speaker wire that is touching the body of the car or something. Also, there is a way to bypass the remote (I think just bridge the power and remote terminals? Look that up...). You can try disconnecting the remote and then testing without the remote (esp. if you are running the remote on the side of the RCAs). I have read a few cases of this solving noise problems, much to others' surprise. This was going to be my next test when I had some time. By the way, what kind of engine noise do you get? I get a small bit of alternator whine, but also some static. |
with the RFX9320 i get alot of static and whine...the other two head units is just whine. |
get some long ass wires and hook it up direct to the battery terminals. or ground the HU in the trunk. are all your in cabin speakers amped? |
all cabin speakers amped ok..heres an update..got a long ass wire grounded head unit to battery amp to battery battery to block going back to to try: head unit to amp run RCA over interior to each input of amp god damned muther****ing noise i wanna light the car on fire. http://greetings.123city.net/TempPictures/49771.gif |
I had noise problems forever...all signs always pointed to something behind the HU...after I found just the right place for the wires behind the HU the noise went away. |
unit is grounded to the frame of the dash right now. maybe i shoulda just bought cheap crap..it sucks putting htis much work into a system ,gutted the car for sound deading, then wire, then saving for top end gear, then putting it all in and dealing with this crap... |
heres more pics...this is my setup behind the radio.....also a pic with crap drawn in but the power constant and switched are reversed in the lableing...sue me its late....i installed a barrier strip cause i have been thru so many head units, plus i have a guage, and my Omnfi unit to hook up back there...the noise was there before the strip and with only the head unit hooked up. it makes the noise with the head unit out of the dash and the RCAs in my hand...so its not them touching the metal frame or interfering with the barrier strip. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...3/DSC02461.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v253/alex053/edit.jpg |
update.... i dont get it. its still there with no signal.....i would say its the amp at this point but this is the third amp that has had this noise.....it seems most pronounced from the front right....is it possible that crossover is the source of the noise?? |
youre a retard...just get a new ****ing car already |
these last 2 posts by a friend |
just curious... why not use a harness? |
Have you made sure it's not the speaker cable? Maybe it got crushed/cut somewhere and is touching the car frame (i.e. the ground). |
