07 coupe handling I have 07 ex coupe & I don't like it's twitchy tendency to oversteer that requires constant vigilence on the road. it's been 4-wheel aligned & has 5K miles on it. I know most of you young folks LIKE oversteer, but I'm a old SCCA road racer who likes a neutral car in the canyons, especially on a daily commuter. ... drifting and scaring the passenger ain't my goal Anybody have experience with 8th gen swaybars, etc that might tame the thing a bit & make it more neutral? Does the SI have different components? And is it more or less twitchy? |
Re: 07 coupe handling alot of oversteer on a stock FWD car? thats something new. if you want some more understeer, go get larger front sways. |
Re: 07 coupe handling If your an old SCCA road racer then you aught to know that "neutral" doesn't exist in any useful manor. and that a car has to be driven to be "neutral". Regardless, here are a few things you can do to make the car want to oversteer less. 1. Dis-connect the rear anti-roll bar. 2. Align the rear end to be more toed in 3. Don't trail brake as much. 4. Don't come off the throttle mid turn 5. reduce camber on the front end 6. Increase negative camber on the rear All these things with the exception of #3 and #4 are all tuning to make the car more understeer prone. |
