OEM style foglights

Has anyone ever bought one of these from ebay? I saw oem style ones for 79 dollars and debating if it is worth it.

krayziebonet4l 04-01-2003 01:18 AM

Not from ebay, but i bought a set from tornactive for $110 shipped and i am very happy w/ them. took me 4 hours to install but like i said i am very satisfied. they're also bright as hell.

Bartkat 04-01-2003 02:54 PM

Yep. If you look around here there are several members who have them. Some have had lenses crack in cold, wet weather though.

lowblue02 04-01-2003 03:37 PM

I have them and I love them. You can get them from procarparts.com. They only took me about an hour to put on. You have to find a new switch though if you have an 02 EX or newer. Or you can put the switch in place of the cruse button.

BausHaug 04-01-2003 03:58 PM

I'd spend the extra $40 and but them from Tornactive

OHERC 04-02-2003 02:31 PM

procarparts.com...... i like mine.. nice illuminated switch looks original

Bellz 04-02-2003 09:12 PM

Just got mine yesterday from Tornactive. Fast shipping too. I'll be working on getting them installed this weekend if the weather holds up. I may post some "in-progress" pics if anyone is interested. ??

sounds good bellz, if you need any help, feel free to pm me.

fatboy 04-03-2003 07:36 AM

i got mines form the delear a week and a half ago......FREE!!! They told me that'd they hook me up if I'd signed for the new car. I'm a sucka. But seriously, OEM ones retail at $299 formt he delear plus it took em 3 hours to put em in at $80 dollaz an hour (you do the math....yikes!) Now I just gotta find super white H11s to match up with my MTEC H4s.

Samari 04-03-2003 07:40 AM

I got mine from tornactive in less than 1 week and it took me 1hr 30mins aprox. to install them. Its very simple. Good service from them to.

hondamexicano 04-03-2003 08:32 AM

Changing the subject a little, what kind of hyper white bulbs for the OEM fog lamps are available? I know itīs an H11 but I havenīt been able to find hyper whites in that specific bulb setting.

Now that I got the sylvania silverstars in my headlamps, my fog lamps donīt match and look too yellow.

XxSoVeReiGNxX 04-03-2003 08:54 AM

I got mine from ebay. Almost 1 years since install, runs great. I had them professionally installed, so if anything happens, they'll repair for free. The OEM Replicas I bought from ebay also came with a manufacturer's warranty, so look for a professional seller.

jaaaapp 04-03-2003 12:46 PM

PLZ POST THE IN-PROGRESS PICS BELLZ~~~~!! IM INTERESTED

HomerSimpson 04-03-2003 01:01 PM

They will break with the smallest pebble, thats why I am looking at other brands that may fit in the same spot.

born2xLr8 04-03-2003 05:49 PM

Linky for tornactive. I'm thinking about getting them but aren't you guys afraid of having them crack from debris in the road...like on the freeway or something?

There's a grommet right above the carpet line on the passenger side firewall. Pull back the carpet on the left side and you'll see it. Under the hood, it's right below the steering rack. Get someone to wiggle the wire going through it while you watch and you'll see it.

BTW, I got mine installed and I'm working on uploading the pics, so STAY TUNED !

It's only a problem on the Aero kit. The original kit will fit fine. Look at these pics, the first is the orig. and the second is the Aero. Notice the Aero has no provision for fogs in the factory location. You can always add aftermarket fogs in the lower grill area if you want to.

Dealer cost is ridiculous. You can get the Honda lights at Handaaccessories.com for $223. Or get the OEM replicas from Tornactive for $104.50 shipped. You CAN put them in yourself. It's not that difficult, only time-consuming. You can always get a stereo shop to install them for you a lot cheaper than the dealer. I bought some Catz fogs from Circuit City a few years ago and had them install them. It was still cheaper than the dealer and they were warranteed to work properly. But the replica kit is easy to assemble and install. I'll put together a DIY soon. I'm going to format it on my web page so it'll be snazzy. I just have to find/buy an html reference book. hehe.

Bellz 04-05-2003 08:01 PM

Ok, I have a very rough page started, showing all the pics. No text yet though. I'm going to add all that and format it with thumbnail pics later tonight or tomorrow, so stay tuned.

It is NOT 56k friendly. All the pics are 640x480 and there's 40 of them!!:damn:

damn those are good pics, make it so much easier, now i know were the firewall is, thanks alot guy, good job

jaaaapp 04-06-2003 12:10 AM

wow nice pics.. is the wire from torn active long enough to reach the cruise button area instead of placing the switch near the cig socket area? did you have to cut out the plastic part out to fit the fog light??

hassoomi 04-06-2003 12:28 AM

hey, i don't get where the last two pictures (of the cutout) are coming from...are they out of sequence? those two seem like the part right after you show the parts and right before you start installing them. i dunno, just curious about where they belong

Bellz 04-06-2003 12:34 AM

I would think it could reach, but you may have to run the harness into the car on the drivers side. I don't see a problem with doing that. The harness is so simple to hook up, it's almost idiot-proof.:D

jaaaapp 04-06-2003 04:26 AM

nice.. thanks bellz. waitin for ur DIY!
