LED too bright I dunno where to post this, so here it goes: I just setup my interior lights with a master switch mounted next to the cigarette lighter. The switch is a rocker switch from Radio Shack with an LED that goes on when the switch is turned to the on position. Well, it all works great, but the LED is too bright! I was wondering if you guys knew anything that I could use to dim it down. Can I cover it with something? I was thinking putting some white-out on it, but I dunno... Do you think I could throw a resistor on it? It's a 12V 25amp switch running parallel to the cigarette lighter. How much resistance should I add? Thanks guys. |
couldn't you just buy a different switch |

ya i agree just buy a new switch but let me get this straight; you got a switch for your inside car lights?? INJEN |
Yeah, it's a switch for the lights in my car. That way I can keep them off when I don't need them. But, why should I buy a new switch? This one works great, it's just kinda bright. I think I'm just gonna take some of that white-out tape and cover the light part... |
I used a similar rocker switch for my fogs. Here is the solution: cover up the top of it with a small rectangle of aluminum tape (for ducts) so that only the sides glow. |
My light is just a little circular LED. |
